Mykolaiv Water Pipeline

A promo landing for the pipeline Autostrada built for Mykolaiv, a city that went without drinking water for over three years. The story runs from cause to technology.

Route map

From Nova Odesa to Mykolaiv

Instead of an ordinary map, a stylised diagram. The silver pipe runs right across Mykolaiv region, and a small map in the corner shows where it is in Ukraine.

Context

A city on salt water

The landing starts with the cause. In April 2022 the pipeline that supplied Mykolaiv was blown up, and for more than three years the city relied on estuary water unfit for drinking.

Pace

Counted in months

Two large figures compare Autostrada’s timeline with the usual one for projects like this. The explanation sits next to them: designers and builders work in parallel under the Design&Build model.

Interactive

A pipe you can look into

The specs sit right on the image: 800–900 mm diameter, up to 16 atmospheres of pressure, corrosion resistance. On the right are the benefits, including a service life of over 50 years.

Technology

Under the Inhul

A dedicated section covers the horizontal directional drilling under the river: the method protects the banks and the ecosystem.

Desktop and mobile

Two languages. Two screens.

The landing is designed in Ukrainian and English, for desktop and phone. On mobile the figures wrap into two columns, and the map and the pipe keep their labels.
